Alex
Lima

Economist, writer and global markets strategist — former member of the markets desk at the New York Fed and founder of DA Economics. His work connects global macro, monetary policy and geopolitics with broader questions about technology, incentives and human behavior. He is the author of SWIPE, a nonfiction project on dating apps, AI companions, loneliness and the market design of modern relationships.

Outside markets and writing, Alex is a father — the role that gives him the deepest sense of purpose. He is also an advanced PADI diver, a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a guitarist in an R&B band, and once crossed France and Spain by bicycle. He reads obsessively, writes constantly, and is drawn to the places where discipline, risk, beauty and human behavior collide. Finally, he loves video games.

Fluent in English and Portuguese. Based between São Paulo and New York. Available for broadcast, podcast, keynote and institutional briefings.
